App Privacy Policy

This policy covers the GT Football app ("the app"), run by GT Football Academy, Canberra, Australia ("we", "us"). It explains what the app collects, why, who can see it, and how to have it deleted. Purchases made on our website (gtfootball.au) are covered by the website's own privacy policy.
WHO THE APP IS FOR
The app is for families enrolled at GT Football Academy, our coaches, and players aged 13 and over.
- Parents create an account and add their children.
- Children under 13 never have their own account. Everything about them is entered and managed by their parent.
- Players aged 13 to 17 can have their own login, but only after their parent has added them with that player's email address. Players can see their own schedule and academy notices. They cannot use chat and cannot reply to sessions; their parent does that.
WHAT WE COLLECT
About you (parents, players and coaches):
- Your name and email address, and a password (stored encrypted; we can't see it).
- Your notification settings.
- A push notification address for your phone, if you allow notifications, so the app can send you academy notices.
About your children (entered by you, the parent):
- Their name and date of birth (used to work out their age group, and whether they can have their own login at 13).
- Their age group and playing position, if you add them.
- Which squad they're in each term.
- Your replies to sessions (going or can't make it, and any reason you give), and whether they attended.
What you write in the app:
- Messages you send in academy group chats.
- Messages you report, and people you block.
What we don't collect: we don't track your location, we don't use advertising or advertising identifiers, we don't sell or share your information for marketing, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
WHY WE USE IT
To run the academy: showing your family's training schedule, taking RSVPs and attendance, letting George and the coaches organise squads, sending notices such as cancellations, reminders and announcements, and running group chats between families and coaches. We use it for nothing else.
WHO CAN SEE IT
- You see your own account and your own children.
- George (the academy director) sees all enrolled players, squads, replies and attendance, and the reports made in chat.
- Coaches see the players, replies and attendance for the squads they coach.
- Group chats are visible to the parents and coaches who belong to that chat. Players are never in chats.
- Other parents can't see your children's details.
We use a small number of service providers to run the app, and they handle data only on our behalf:
- Supabase: stores the app's data and handles logins.
- Expo: delivers app updates and sends push notifications.
- Apple: delivers notifications to iPhones.
Some of these providers may store data on servers outside Australia.
KEEPING IT SAFE
All data is sent over encrypted connections. Each person can only reach the information they're allowed to see; this is enforced by our database, not just by the app's screens.
DELETING YOUR INFORMATION
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen (or, if you're not yet enrolled, from the welcome screen). Deleting a parent account permanently removes the account, the children added to it, and their squad places and session replies. Messages you sent in group chats stay so the conversation still makes sense, but your name is removed from them. Attendance records already marked by the academy, and reports made about messages, may be kept as the academy's records.
You can also email us to ask for your information to be corrected or deleted.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask what information we hold about you or your children, and ask us to correct it. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, contact us first; you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
CHANGES
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
